Update: Part I

No bribes, but I've decided to update anyhow...

For those of you I haven't talked with lately---I'm SORRY!  I've been horrible at keeping in touch...but know that at least daily a smile comes to my face when I think of y'all.  As if you couldn't tell from my last post, I especially miss all of you still back in Indy.  I took my time at Butler for granted.

Here is a small attempt at updating everyone on the past 8 or so months of my life journey:

Upon my return from UK/Russia I was still very unsure about the whole 4 yrs of grad school thing...but my desire to have a ministry at UofL was multiplied ten-fold.  I thought I'd probably end up in Greek ministry...maybe mentoring a few of the upperclassmen regularly each week.  However, I wanted to hold off decisions until I knew what my class/clinic schedule would be like.  During orientation (the week before classes started), I was informed that when we were not in class, we were expected to be in clinic.  No free time during the days?!?!  I was shocked...I figured that my 12-hour course load would have given me the same amount of free time as my last semester at Butler.  Boy was I wrong...instead I had to block out 8am-5pm five days a week.  Even though the hours varied when we rotated to the diff clinic sites, I had to plan for not having those hours available.

Classes began, and I learned more than I ever imagined about ears...but at the same time the Lord was teaching me so much more than all my classes combined.  I began spending time with the youth at the church I had been visiting...and later decided to focus my free time with them rather than with Greek ministry at UofL.  I don't rememb the date, but I think it was in November that I became an official member of the church.  It was actually during my first membership meeting with the pastor and one of the elders (my former youth minister) that I really felt confident in saying God was not calling me to be an Audiologist.  We were discussing the Membership Covenant and the repetition of the word "commit."  Fortunately the covenant did not include the line "We commit ourselves, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to complete grad school."  By this time in the semester (mid-October), there was a growing struggle inside me.  Most of you know that my personality is to get very involved and be 100% committed to what I do.  Well, my constant awareness that I was not committed to audiology was tearing at me more and more...

(...to be continued)

*Purpose: so that Henning will talk to me again

OK, here goes---ummmmm to update y'all on all that has gone on since my last post would be ridiculous.  So instead, I'll use this time to say that Matt Henning is a stallion!  And all of his posse in Indy are stallions (or unicorns) as well...and I miss them all soooo much!!!  I can't wait to catch up...to share and hear how God is at work in the world.  I hope to visit Indy sooooooon!

T.Ng, MooMal, and I want to have a caption contest... Check out the picture below...K.Bro is the only one who is "normal" in the picture.

What is Nate looking at?  Explain the situation with the three girls on the couch?  What are Steve-O and Henning talking about?  Is Alyson possessed?  What is A.Lo pondering?  AND, Why is Travis soooooo happy?  We look forward to seeing what ya'll come up with...

Wonderful evening...you're invited to click below to see pictures [Sorry, ya'll...but all the photo services I use to post pictures online have been shut down ]

* CLICK HERE * CLICK HERE * CLICK HERE *

The first is Je'ca and I.  Tonight Je'ca shared her "Senior Spotlight" at IndyCru.  What a blessing it is to have friends who put such an importance on the Word of God.  Yay for loving the TRUTH ...but, boo for Je'ca graduating a year early on me!

Next comes a group pic from the White River Park downtown...went there after IndyCru.  Funny story: some of us were skipping rocks in the canal and this group of men "called" the cops and reported us as crazies trying to kill the endangered ducks!  We thought it was a joke...but nooooooooo, a lil' while later a cop comes up and asks us about the report...WHOOPS ...there were no ducks around, trust me...

Then a pic of homeless M.Scha.  Found him on a bench...enough said.

Brook is driving me to Evansville this weekend!  She's dropping me off @ Univ of E to visit Lizard!  I can't wait!  I'll miss you Indy-ites as you're playing in Broadripple Park w/out me...we need to have another gathering next weekend before we all head away for our summers...who's in for Saturday, April 24???
